Mit der „Wohnbereichsarbeit“, die bundesweit fast einzigartig in der Geschäftsstelle Emden ist, wollen die ehrenamtlich Tätigen den Mitgliedern der IG Metall, ihren Familien und den Menschen in Ihrer Nachbarschaft, an Ihrem Wohnort und in Ihrer Region sagen: Wir sind für Euch da - auch dort, wo Ihr zu Hause seid. Gewerkschaftsarbeit hört für uns nicht am Werkstor auf, wir leben sie weiter.
Wir nutzen die Anlässe am Ort; Stadtteil- und Dorffeste, Fussballturniere, Gewerbeschauen und vieles mehr. Die IG Metall sucht die Nähe zu den Menschen, da Solidarität in der heutigen Zeit ein unbedingtes Muss ist.
